Metal Deactivators

Metal deactivators are a special kind of corrosion inhibitors that form a passivating protective film, especially on non-ferrous metals. By forming a passivating protective film, deactivators prevent catalytic copper ions from being passed on to oil and stop oxidative attacks on the copper surface by oxygen or oil-aging products. We recently expanded our product range to include sulfurous metal deactivators. Chemically, this additive group builds on the thiadiazole derivatives, which are characterised by a broad spectrum of applications and effects in various lubricant applications.
